Job Description

Sr. Executive – Purchase

Job brief:

A Purchase Manager in the textile or garment industry sources and procures materials like fabrics, threads, and trims, negotiates with suppliers to ensure quality and cost-effectiveness, and manages inventory to prevent production delays. Key responsibilities include strategic sourcing, vendor relationship management, cost control, budget monitoring, and ensuring purchased items meet quality standards through collaboration with quality assurance teams.

Key Responsibilities

Procurement & Sourcing:

Identify, evaluate, and on-board suppliers for fabrics, accessories, trims, and other necessary materials.

Negotiation:

Negotiate prices, quality standards, and delivery schedules with suppliers to achieve cost savings without compromising quality.

Vendor Management:

Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors, and evaluate their performance based on quality, cost, and delivery reliability.

Inventory & Supply Chain Management:

Monitor inventory levels, coordinate timely replenishment of materials to avoid production delays, and manage the flow of goods.

Quality Assurance:

Ensure all purchased materials and accessories meet company quality standards and work with QA teams to resolve any issues.

Cost Control & Budgeting:

Develop cost-saving initiatives, prepare purchase budgets for materials, and monitor expenditures to ensure budget adherence.

Documentation & Reporting:

Maintain accurate records of purchase orders, invoices, and supplier agreements. Generate reports on purchase performance and cost analysis.

Strategic Planning:

Develop purchasing strategies and keep up with trends in procurement and the textile market.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Education:

Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, or a related field.

Experience:

Several years of experience in purchasing or procurement within the garment or textile industry.

Negotiation Skills:

Strong negotiation, communication, and decision-making abilities are essential.

Technical Skills:

Proficiency in MS Office, ERP systems, and inventory management software.

Industry Knowledge:

Strong knowledge of textile materials (fabrics, threads, beads, etc.) and their specifications and quality standards.

Other Skills:

Ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines, manage multiple requirements, and problem-solve effectively

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹22,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
