Job brief:

A textile/garment production manager oversees all stages of garment manufacturing, from raw materials to finished products, ensuring efficiency, quality, and timely delivery. Key responsibilities include production planning and scheduling, managing budgets, sourcing materials, coordinating teams, maintaining high quality standards, ensuring workplace safety, and driving process improvements to reduce costs and enhance productivity. They are critical in translating designs into tangible garments by managing cutting, sewing, finishing, packaging, and labelling processes, ensuring buyer specifications are met.

Key Responsibilities

Production Planning & Control:

Develop detailed production schedules, plan the flow from raw materials to finished goods, and monitor operations to ensure adherence to timelines and targets.

Quality Assurance:

Implement and enforce quality standards throughout the production process, ensuring all garments meet company specifications and buyer requirements, and managing rework and rejection rates.

Cost Management:

Monitor and control production costs, identify opportunities for cost reduction, and ensure operations are economical.

Team Leadership & Coordination:

Lead, motivate, and guide production teams, fostering clear communication, efficient teamwork, and an agreeable working environment.

Material & Resource Management:

Oversee the procurement of raw materials (fabric, trims, etc.) and ensure they arrive on time and meet quality standards, also managing equipment selection, maintenance, and repair.

Process Improvement:

Continuously analyze and evaluate work processes, tools, and equipment to find ways to improve production efficiency and overall garment quality.

Health & Safety:

Maintain a safe production environment by ensuring health and safety protocols are followed.

Supplier Management:

Manage relationships with key suppliers (e.g., fabric mills, trim manufacturers) to ensure timely delivery of quality materials.

Skills & Qualifications

Technical Knowledge: Understanding of the garment manufacturing process, including marking, cutting, sewing, finishing, and packaging.

Leadership & Communication: Ability to lead, motivate, and communicate effectively with teams and other departments.

Problem-Solving: Skill in identifying and resolving issues that arise during production.

Cost Control & Budgeting: Proficiency in managing budgets and optimizing expenses.

Organizational Skills: Strong ability to plan, schedule, and coordinate multiple tasks and processes.

Other Skills: Proficiency with relevant software for production monitoring, data analysis, and resource management.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹22,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
