About the Company

We are a well-established freight forwarding and logistics company providing end-to-end solutions for international and domestic cargo movement. We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to manage financial operations, ensure statutory compliance, and support management with accurate and timely financial reporting.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

• Accounting & Finance
• Maintain complete books of accounts including General Ledger (GL), Accounts Receivable (AR), Accounts Payable (AP), and Bank Reconciliations
• Handle day-to-day accounting entries and month-end / year-end closures
• Prepare monthly MIS reports, Profit & Loss statements, and Balance Sheets
• Monitor freight income, vendor bills, receivables, and payables
• Coordinate with the operations team for job costing and revenue recognition

Taxation & Compliance

• Handle GST compliance including GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, reconciliations, and audits
• Manage TDS compliance – calculations, deductions, returns, and certificates
• Ensure compliance with Income Tax, statutory regulations, and company policies
• Liaise with Chartered Accountants, auditors, and tax consultants

Freight Forwarding Accounts

• Verify shipping invoices, freight bills, CHA charges, and overseas agent statements
• Reconcile agent accounts, job files, and freight accruals
• Track shipment-wise / job-wise profitability
• Handle foreign currency transactions and exchange rate adjustments
• Internal Controls & Reporting
• Maintain proper documentation and accounting controls
• Support internal and external audits
• Assist management in budgeting and financial planning

Qualifications & Experience

• M.Com / CA Inter / CMA Inter – preferred
• 5–8 years of accounting experience, preferably in freight forwarding / logistics
• Strong working knowledge of GST, TDS, and Income Tax
• Experience in handling statutory and internal audits

Skills & Competencies

• Proficiency in Tally / ERP accounting systems
• Strong command of MS Excel and financial reporting
• Good understanding of freight forwarding operations and documentation
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• High attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
