Sr. Accountant

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to manage the financial operations of our CBSE-affiliated school. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of accounting principles, school finance management, statutory compliance, and budgeting. The Senior Accountant will ensure the smooth financial functioning of the school while adhering to regulatory and CBSE guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage and maintain day-to-day school accounting functions (fees, payroll, purchases, etc.).

Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.

Monitor and reconcile bank accounts, ledgers, and petty cash.

Ensure timely fee collection and maintain accurate fee records.

Oversee payroll processing, staff reimbursements, and statutory deductions (PF, ESI, TDS, etc.).

Prepare school budgets and forecasts; monitor budget vs actuals.

Ensure compliance with CBSE regulations and Indian accounting standards.

Coordinate internal and external audits and implement audit recommendations.

Manage vendor payments, procurements, and contracts as per school policy.

Maintain fixed asset register and depreciation schedules.

Assist in finalizing accounts for the annual audit and school inspections.

File timely returns for TDS, GST, and other statutory obligations.

Qualifications and Skills:

Bachelor’s degree in Commerce/Accounting; M.Com or CA (Inter) preferred.

Minimum 5–7 years of accounting experience, preferably in an educational institution.

Knowledge of CBSE norms, school fee management, and fund accounting.

Proficient in accounting software (e.g., Tally ERP, QuickBooks) and MS Excel.

Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Attention to detail and integrity in financial reporting.

Pay: ₹50,000.00 - ₹70,000.00 per month
