job Summary
We are seeking an experienced SQL DBA Lead to manage, maintain, and optimize Microsoft SQL Server databases. The role involves leading a DBA team, ensuring database availability, performance, security, and supporting business-critical applications.Key Responsibilities

Lead and mentor a team of SQL Database Administrators

Install, configure, upgrade, and manage Microsoft SQL Server (on-prem & cloud)

Ensure high availability and disaster recovery using Always On, Failover Clustering, Log Shipping, and Replication
-
Monitor database performance and proactively tune queries, indexes, and configurations
-
Manage database security, access controls, encryption, and compliance
-
Plan and execute backup, restore, and recovery strategies
-
Work closely with application, infrastructure, and DevOps teams
-
Handle production issues, root cause analysis, and performance bottlenecks
-
Automate routine DBA tasks using scripts (T-SQL, PowerShell)
-
Support database capacity planning and architecture decisions
-
Ensure documentation, standards, and best practices are followed
Required Skills & Qualifications

Strong expertise in Microsoft SQL Server (2014/2016/2019/2022)

Advanced knowledge of T-SQL, indexing, query optimization

Hands-on experience with High Availability & Disaster Recovery (HA/DR)

Experience with SQL Server performance monitoring tools

Knowledge of database security and compliance standards

Experience in cloud platforms (Azure SQL, AWS RDS – preferred)

Leadership experience managing DBA teams

Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications

Microsoft SQL certifications (MCSA / MCSE / Azure Database certifications)

Experience with DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and automation

Exposure to data migration and modernization projects
