Job Description

We are looking for a skilled professional in Mainframe for Pune location. Job Title - Specialist - System Management (Mainframe Support) Exp- 5- 8 yrs Location- Pune Notice Period - Upto 60 days Contributes significantly to the Production support response strategy by identifying and developing platform improvement and process improvement opportunities Oversee the entire shift deliverables technically functionally and prioritize the tasks and bring them to closure Interact with Clients regularly to understand the problem statement and requirements and make the team in sync with the same Take new initiatives to upskill and mentor the team resulting in increased maturity and sense of ownsership Contribute to Org level events and participate in proposals and solution designing Troubleshoots applications implements fixes to decrease MTTR and minimize dependency on advanced vendor support Minimizes application maintenance costs by providing System performance improvement suggestions Maintains skills consistent with the technology roadmap and upskill regularly Maintain services once they are live by measuring and monitoring availability latency and overall system health Practice sustainable incident response and blameless postmortems Take a holistic approach to problem solving connecting the dots during production event thru the various technology stack to optimize mean time to recover Work with a global team spread across tech hubs in multiple geographies and time zones Share knowledge and mentor junior resources Qualification Must Have Production Support experience with Mainframe COBOL JCL CICS DB2 Systematic problem solving approach coupled with strong communication skills and a sense of ownership and drive Ability to help debug and optimize code and automate routine tasks Experience in dealing with difficult situations and making decisions with a sense of urgency Interest in designing analyzing and troubleshooting large scale Systems An appetite for change and pushing the boundaries of what can be done with automation Experience in working across development operations and product teams to prioritize needs and build relationships Deep knowledge of architecture techniques and tools Acting as the First line of triage possessing ability to handle JCL errors restarts etc escalate issues that need more hands on resolution Hands on experience on creation migration ownership of the Batch schedules through CA7 Monitoring of Batch Cycle and Production support activities Knowledge of the following technologies o Technical experience on usage of JCL COBOL VSAM CICS PROC VPROC PARM COPYBOOK o IBM Tools like CA7 SPUFI CAFM ENDEVOR Table Base tables etc o Understanding of RDBMS DB2 and IMS database concepts o Knowledge on REXX is preferred Good understanding of US Insurance Domain Flexible to work in shifts and weekend support Ensure that all workload SLAs and SLOs are met for the respective tasks Excellent communication and coordination skills.
