Job Description

We are seeking a talented individual to join our Investment team at Mercer. This role will be based in Mumbai. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.

Specialist – Investment Strategy & Research


We are seeking a highly motivated individual to support the growth of our OCIO Portfolio Intelligence business. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to gain experience in investment consulting and portfolio analytics for Insurance and DB pension scheme clients. The role may also appeal to candidates currently working in Fiduciary Management, but seeking a new opportunity, or candidates with a strong investment background and technological expertise. The successful candidate will be a key member of the Portfolio Intelligence Team responsible for designing and implementing leading investment analytics tailored to each client using Mercer’s best ideas. This is a rewarding position within a dynamic and expanding team.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, maintain, and enhance quantitative models to improve client offerings.
  • Lead automation initiatives to streamline processes.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify client needs and create solutions.
  • Work with global teams to implement efficient, high-quality strategies.
  • Provide technical insights to support client strategies.
  • Model financial risks and review regular risk reports.
  • Create pitch materials for potential clients.


Qualifications:

  • Intermediate experience in Python, SQL, Excel, and VBA is a strong plus.
  • Proven experience in automation and data wrangling.
  • Strong desire to design structured and efficient solutions.
  • Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Basic understanding of financial instruments, including fixed income, equities, and funds.
  • Ability to work independently and lead processes to meet deadlines.
  • Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Financial Engineering, Quantitative Finance, or a related quantitative field.
  • Familiarity with standard risk measurement and management metrics for portfolios.
  • Background in portfolio management, construction, and basic econometrics/statistical modeling is preferred but not required.
