South Asia Procurement Lead (Based in India)

Job Description:

Xiaomi is looking for an experienced South Asia Procurement Lead to oversee and optimize our procurement operations across the South Asia region (with a focus on India). This role will be responsible for developing and executing procurement strategies, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring cost efficiency while maintaining high-quality standards. The ideal candidate should have deep knowledge of the local market, strong negotiation skills, and the ability to bridge business practices between China and South Asia.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Strategic Procurement & Supplier Management:

- Develop and implement procurement strategies for South Asia, ensuring alignment with Xiaomi’s global supply chain objectives.

- Identify, evaluate, and onboard reliable suppliers (local & international) to support business growth.

- Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms to achieve cost savings and supply stability.

2. Market & Supply Chain Expertise:

- Monitor market trends, regulatory changes, and risks in India/South Asia, providing insights to optimize procurement decisions.

- Work closely with cross-functional teams (logistics, finance, product) to ensure smooth supply chain operations.

3. Cost & Quality Control:

- Drive cost reduction initiatives while maintaining product quality and compliance standards.

- Resolve supplier issues (delays, quality defects, etc.) and implement corrective actions.

4. Cross-Cultural Collaboration:

- Act as a key liaison between Xiaomi’s HQ (China) and South Asia teams, ensuring smooth communication and alignment.

- Facilitate business practices that align with both local market needs and Xiaomi’s global policies.

Qualifications & Requirements:

1. Education & Experience:

- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field. MBA preferred.

- 8+ years of procurement/sourcing experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role(India/South Asia focus).

- Proven track record in electronics/consumer goods/hardware procurement (experience in mobile/IT industry is a plus).

2. Market Knowledge:

- Deep understanding of India’s procurement landscape, including local regulations, suppliers, and logistics.

- Familiarity with Chinese business culture and experience working with China-based teams is highly preferred.

3. Skills & Competencies:

- Strong negotiation, analytical, and supplier relationship management skills.

- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

- Fluency in English is required; proficiency in Mandarin is a strong plus (for HQ coordination).
