Sourcing - Manager/Deputy Manager

Job Description - Sourcing Manager/Deputy Manager (EMS)

• Identify Supplier, evaluate and approve EMS suppliers based on capability, capacity, cost, and quality.
• Lead high-value negotiations for long-term agreements, cost reductions, and pricing models.
• Analyse BOM cost structures, validate quotations, and drive competitive cost benchmarks.
• Execute cost-saving projects through VA/VE, alternate sourcing, and localization.
• Manage budgeting for EMS procurement and track variance against targets.
• Developing sourcing strategies, managing key EMS suppliers,
• Driving cost optimization, ensuring supply continuity for supporting NPI and mass production requirements.
• Support new product development by coordinating with R&D, Program Management, and EMS partners.
• Ability to handle Overseas Vendor.
• Finalize sourcing strategy for project launches including sample development, pilot builds, and mass production.
• Ensure timely validation of supplier tools, fixtures, and manufacturing readiness.
• Involves leadership, commercial negotiations, supplier relationship management, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure best-in-class EMS procurement performance.
• Develop and implement sourcing strategies for PCB, PCBA for EMS solutions.
• Establish long-term strategic partnerships and manage supplier performance and contracts.
• Conduct regular supplier business reviews and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Review supplier capacity, according to the Customer RFQ Volume ensure supply continuity.
• Support and Resolve escalations related to shortages, delays, and production impacts.
• Collaborate with Quality and Engineering teams to ensure compliance with IATF/ISO standards.
• Ensure PPAP, First Sample Approval, and CAPA are executed and closed on time.
• Monitor supplier quality metrics such as PPM, audit scores, and corrective action effectiveness.
• Ensure compliance and customer-specific requirements.

Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Lead a team of sourcing/SCM executives and mentor them for performance improvements.
• Work with Finance, Engineering, Production, and Demand Planning teams to align targets.
• Prepare regular reports on sourcing performance, supplier risks, and executive dashboards.
• Represent sourcing in management meetings and customer interactions when required.

Education Qualification

• BE/Diploma in Electronics, Electrical, or related field.
• MBA (Supply Chain/Operations) preferred.

Experience

• 12 to 15 years of experience in EMS sourcing, electronics procurement, or component sourcing.
• Strong experience in PCB, PCBA, SMT operations, and mechanical/plastic sourcing.
• Proven negotiation and supplier development experience at manager level.

Technical Skills

• Strong cost analysis capability (BOM review, cost breakdown, benchmark study).
• Experience with ERP Tools like SAP and advanced MS Office/Power BI, Microsoft dynamics D365 preferred.
• Ability to handle high-value supplier contracts and long-term agreements.
• Knowledge of electronics components, BOM mapping, PCB, PCBA processes.
• Understanding of manufacturing processes: SMT, wave soldering, and assembly process.
• Strong negotiation skill, analytical, and cost breakdown skills.
