Job Summary:

Automobile Sourcing Manager

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement sourcing strategies for

  automotive components, raw materials, and consumables

  to meet cost, quality, and delivery goals.
• Identify, evaluate, and onboard

  suppliers and vendors

  based on technical capability, capacity, and quality systems.
• Negotiate pricing, contracts, and payment terms to achieve

  cost savings and long-term sourcing stability.

• Coordinate with

  Design, Production, and Quality

  teams for sourcing of new components during

  NPD (New Product Development)

  .
• Conduct

  supplier audits

  and manage supplier performance through regular assessments and improvement plans.
• Drive

  localization and cost reduction

  projects through alternate source development and value engineering.
• Monitor and analyze

  market trends, commodity prices, and risks

  to maintain a stable and competitive supply base.
• Collaborate with stores and production planning teams for

  material availability and inventory control.

• Ensure compliance with

  ISO/IATF 16949 standards, company procurement policies, and ethical sourcing practices.

• Maintain sourcing records, performance reports, and key supplier KPIs for management review.
  

Required Skills & Competencies:

• Strong understanding of

  automotive components, materials (steel, aluminum, plastics, rubber)

  and related

  manufacturing processes.

• Proven expertise in

  strategic sourcing, supplier negotiations, and cost analysis.

• Familiarity with

  ERP systems (SAP / Oracle / similar)

  for purchase and inventory management.
• Working knowledge of

  APQP, PPAP, FMEA

  , and

  quality management systems.

• Excellent communication, analytical thinking, and vendor management skills.
  
• Ability to handle multiple projects and meet tight deadlines in a dynamic production environment.
  
• Exposure to

  global sourcing

  or

  EV components sourcing

  is an added advantage.

Educational Qualification:

• B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical, Automobile, or Production Engineering

• MBA in Supply Chain or Operations Management

  preferred
