Sourcing Engineer

Job Summary:

The Sourcing Engineer Mechanical is responsible for identifying, evaluating, and developing suppliers for mechanical components, fabricated parts, and assemblies. The role requires strong technical knowledge in mechanical engineering, supplier management, and cost optimization to ensure timely availability of high-quality materials at competitive prices. The position works closely with design, production, and quality teams to support both new product development and ongoing production needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Identify, evaluate, and develop local and global suppliers for mechanical components, machined parts, fabricated assemblies, and sub-systems.
• Review and interpret mechanical drawings, BOMs, and technical specifications to ensure supplier understanding and compliance.
• Prepare and issue RFQs/RFPs, perform techno-commercial evaluations, and lead price and contract negotiations.
• Conduct cost analysis and implement value engineering and cost reduction initiatives.
• Assess supplier manufacturing capabilities, quality systems, and capacity through audits and performance reviews.
• Support new product development (NPD) by sourcing prototype and production components aligned with design timelines.
• Monitor supplier performance on quality, delivery, and cost, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Coordinate with engineering, quality, and production teams to resolve technical or supply issues.
• Manage procurement documentation, supplier databases, and ERP transactions accurately and efficiently.
• Stay updated with market trends, raw material cost fluctuations, and emerging manufacturing technologies.

Qualifications & Skills:

Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering.
