We are seeking a skilled Substation Automation Engineer with expertise in Testing and Commissioning of automation systems for electrical substations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for configuration, testing and integrating the advanced technologies to enhance the monitoring, control, and protection of substation equipment. The candidate should possess a strong understanding of substation automation software systems, implementation, and maintenance of advanced automation systems for electrical substations. The successful candidate will be responsible for leveraging their knowledge and experience in substation automation in configuration, testing and commissioning transmission substation automation systems. This role requires a strong understanding of various technologies and software systems, as well as the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

Your new role – challenging and future-oriented:

  • Configure, test and commissioning of substation automation systems to optimize monitoring, control, and protection functions within electrical substations.
  • Integrate intelligent electronic devices (IEDs), Remote Terminal Units (RTUs), and human-machine interface (HMI) systems to enable remote monitoring and control capabilities
  • Develop and configure communication networks and protocols, such as IEC 61850, and Modbus, to facilitate seamless data exchange and interoperability.
  • Develop and maintain standardized parameterization procedures for substation automation equipment to optimize performance and interoperability
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure accurate and efficient parameterization of substation automation systems
  • Stay updated with industry standards and technological advancements in substation automation design and implementation.
  • Planning and execution of training courses and customer presentations.
  • Debugging tools: Mods can, IEC Tester, IED Scout, Wireshark "Integrate intelligent electronic devices (IEDs), RTUs (Remote Terminal Units), Gateways, and human-machine interface (HMI) systems to enable remote monitoring and control capabilities
  • Develop and configure communication networks and protocols, such as IEC 61850, IEC60870-5-101/103/104, DNP3, OPC and Modbus TCI/IP to facilitate seamless data exchange and interoperability


We don’t need superheroes, just super minds:

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related field
  • Minimum of 5-8 years of experience in substation automation Configuration, Testing and Commissioning.
  • Proficiency in software systems such as Substation automation system, HMI development, and networking protocols
  • Technical Know How of substation automation principles and communication protocols (e.g., IEC 61850, Modbus, Time Synch)
  • OS and Tools: Windows, PC Applications, PC communication, serial/ IP networking.
  • Knowledge of PC Networking, switch, router, GPS, Firewall, Cyber Security
  • Knowledge of Process Bus Technology.
  • Experience in IO Mapping with respect to the scheme drawings/troubleshoot of database issues in SAS system / RTU based system. (Know-how) Develop and maintain standardized parameterization procedures for substation automation equipment to optimize performance and interoperability
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure accurate and efficient parameterization of substation automation systems
  • Work experience on Hitachi substation automation system, Creation of Micro SCADA SYS600 database and gateway configuration, Integrated Engineering Tool – IET600, Integrated Testing Tool - ITT600, PCM600 is must.
  • OR
  • Work experience on GE make substation automation tools DS Agile, DS Agile Substation Gateway, Ener Vista (launchpad & viewpoint monitoring) is must.
  • Experience in developing and implementing standardized parameterization procedures for substation automation equipment
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively
    • Willingness to travel as the role demands a minimum of 50-70% travel overseas & India.
