Solar Civil Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, design, and execute

  civil works for solar PV projects

  , including foundations, mounting structures, equipment bases, cable trenches, roads, drainage, and control room buildings.
• Conduct

  site inspections and surveys

  to assess soil conditions, terrain, access roads, and constructability of solar projects.
• Prepare and review

  civil drawings

  , layouts, foundation designs, and BOQs in coordination with the design and electrical teams.
• Supervise on-site construction activities to ensure work is carried out as per approved drawings, technical specifications, safety standards, and project timelines.
• Manage contractors and subcontractors, ensuring quality workmanship and adherence to project schedules.
• Ensure compliance with

  IS codes, structural standards, safety norms

  , and client-specific requirements.
• Coordinate with procurement teams for material planning and timely availability of civil construction materials.
• Monitor project progress, prepare daily/weekly progress reports, and highlight risks or delays to the project manager.
• Perform quality checks for excavation, concreting, reinforcement, backfilling, grouting, and structural installations.
• Support project documentation including

  as-built drawings

  , measurement books (MB), RA bills, and completion reports.
• Assist in resolving site-level technical issues and providing engineering solutions during execution.
• Ensure proper implementation of

  HSE (Health, Safety & Environment)

  practices at project sites.

Required Skills & Competencies

• Strong knowledge of

  solar project civil construction

  , including RCC, pile foundations, precast structures, and steel mounting systems.
• Experience in

  foundation design

  for fixed-tilt and tracker-based solar plants.
• Understanding of soil investigation reports and basic geotechnical concepts.
• Proficiency in

  AutoCAD

  , MS Excel, and project reporting tools.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Knowledge of construction quality control procedures and safety standards.
• Good coordination, leadership, and communication skills.
• Willingness to travel to project sites across India as required.

Educational Qualification

• B.Tech / B.E / Diploma in

  Civil Engineering

  from a recognized institute.
• Certifications in construction management or safety are an added advantage.

Experience Required

• 2 to 6 years

  of relevant experience in civil works for

  solar power projects

  , renewable energy EPC companies, or infrastructure projects.
