Job Summary


We are looking for an experienced and technically sound Design Specialist (Electrical) –Solar PV & BESS to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate should have a solid background in electrical design, engineering coordination, and project execution support for utility-scale and C&I solar PV projects & Standalone BESS. This role requires cross-functional collaboration, vendor coordination, and active involvement from the design phase through site execution.  


Key Responsibilities


  • Support design and engineering of utility-scale and C&I solar PV projects, including site layout, SLDs, and interconnection diagrams.
  • Prepare and review electrical BOQs, cable schedules, earthing, lightning protection, and transformer sizing.
  • Perform load flow analysis, short circuit studies, and protection coordination.
  • Coordinate with procurement and execution teams for technical reviews and approvals.
  • Assist in finalizing technical specifications for key components such as inverters, transformers, switchgear, cabling, and substation equipment.
  • Prepare project-specific documentation including RFQs, compliance checklists, and equipment layout drawings.
  • Provide design support during site execution, commissioning, and technical troubleshooting in coordination with the site team.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant codes (CEA, IS, IEC), DISCOM/grid interconnection norms, CEIG requirements, MNRE guidelines, and other industry standards.
  • Collaborate with SCADA, monitoring, and automation teams for integration of electrical systems into centralized control platforms.


Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (Master’s preferred but not mandatory).
  • 2–5 years of experience in electrical design engineering for utility-scale solar PV projects.
  • Familiarity with standards such as CEA, IEC, IEEE and utility interconnection procedures.
  • Experience with design tools like AutoCAD, ETAP, PVsyst, and Helioscope.
  • Understanding of permitting and regulatory documentation for CEIG, SLDC, and DISCOM interconnection.
  • Exposure to techno-commercial analysis, LCOE calculations, and system optimization tools is desirable.
  • Basic understanding of BESS and hybrid solar systems is an advantage.
  • Ability to interpret electrical schematics and vendor GA drawings.
  • Prior experience with EPCs or IPPs is preferred.
  • Must have contributed to at least 50 MW of C&I project capacity.
