About the Role

We're seeking a detail-oriented Software Test Engineer to join our quality assurance team. You'll play a crucial role in ensuring our software products meet the highest standards of quality, performance, and reliability before they reach our customers.

Key Responsibilities

Test Planning & Execution

• Design, develop, and execute comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scripts for web applications, mobile apps, and APIs
• Perform functional, regression, integration, and user acceptance testing
• Conduct exploratory testing to identify edge cases and usability issues

Quality Assurance

• Collaborate with development teams to understand requirements and identify potential quality risks
• Document and track defects using bug tracking systems, working closely with developers to ensure timely resolution
• Participate in code reviews and provide feedback on testability and quality aspects

Automation & Tools

• Develop and maintain automated test suites using industry-standard testing frameworks
• Utilize testing tools for performance, load, and security testing
• Continuously improve testing processes and methodologies

Communication & Collaboration

• Work closely with product managers, developers, and other stakeholders throughout the software development lifecycle
• Provide clear status updates and quality metrics to project teams
• Mentor junior team members and share testing best practices

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience
• 2+ years of experience in software testing and quality assurance
• Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and testing methodologies
• Experience with test automation frameworks (Selenium, Cypress, Jest, or similar)
• Proficiency in at least one programming language (Python, Java, JavaScript, or C#)
• Familiarity with API testing tools (Postman, REST Assured, or similar)
• Experience with bug tracking and test management tools (Jira, TestRail, or similar)
• Knowledge of database testing and SQL queries
• Understanding of version control systems (Git)

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
• Knowledge of performance testing tools (JMeter, LoadRunner)
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
• Familiarity with mobile testing frameworks
• ISTQB or other relevant testing certifications
• Experience with accessibility testing and security testing principles
