The Role

As a Software QA Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of our software products. You will be deeply involved in the entire software development lifecycle—from reviewing requirements and designing test cases to executing tests, identifying defects, and ensuring seamless releases.

This is an onsite role in Kochi, ideal for professionals who are detail-oriented, analytical, and committed to delivering exceptional user experiences.

Key Responsibilities

• Test Planning & Design: Review requirements, user stories, and technical specifications to create detailed test plans and test cases.
• Bug Tracking: Identify, log, document, and track defects using tools like Jira, Asana, or Trello. Collaborate with developers to reproduce, isolate, and validate fixes.
• Automation (if applicable): Design, maintain, and run automated test scripts to improve efficiency and test coverage.
• Collaboration: Work closely with developers, designers, and product managers in an Agile/Scrum environment to integrate quality into every stage of development.
• Regression Testing: Execute thorough regression tests before major releases and after bug fixes.
• Performance & Compatibility: Conduct basic load, performance, and cross-browser/device compatibility testing.
• Reporting: Provide clear, actionable feedback and prepare detailed test reports for stakeholders.

Qualifications & Skills

Required:

• Proven experience as a Software QA Engineer, Tester, or similar role.
• Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
• Ability to write clear and structured test plans, test cases, and documentation.
• Hands-on experience with bug tracking and test management tools (e.g., Jira, TestRail, qTest).
• Proficiency in test automation tools (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, Appium, Postman).
• Experience working with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI).
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• High attention to detail and commitment to quality.
