What You'll Do
Within Software Asset Management (SAM), we manage strategic software vendors and set processes to optimize costs and ensure compliance across Volvo Car Group. We are seeking a Software Asset Management Operations Lead to join our global Sourcing and Software Asset Management team, based at the India Tech Hub. This unit oversees operations, digitalization, and automation of sourcing, vendor management, and SAM processes and data to maximize value from our IT and software vendors.
Main Responsibilities
Serve as the Service Manager for contracts relating to outsourced SAM services (including tools and data), overseeing:SLA/KPI monitoring and follow-upData quality assuranceLeadership of service transition projectsTransformation initiatives for service delivery and toolsetsManage relationships and contractual agreements with our Large Account ResellerDefine requirements for reporting and automationDevelop, implement, and refine processes and policies as neededLead internal audits and performance reviewsGradually assume full responsibility for selected software portfolios
What You'll Bring
We are seeking an individual with a strong interest in SAM encompassing related tools, data, processes, and service management. This role offers the opportunity to further develop and enhance the SAM function within Volvo Cars.The ideal candidate possesses comprehensive knowledge of SAM, with substantial hands-on operational experience involving toolchains and data models - ideally acquired in large, complex enterprise environments. A thorough understanding of licensing and contract models for major software portfolios is required.Applicants should demonstrate a proactive work ethic combined with strategic vision, balancing independent initiative with effective team collaboration among global teams and key stakeholders. Strong analytical and solution-oriented skills are essential. A relevant university degree is preferred.
Additional Qualifications Considered Advantageous Include
Experience managing outsourced services and vendor relationshipsFamiliarity with implementing and working with ITAM and FinOps principles and frameworks
