Role: Social Media Marketing Consultant

Location – Mohali


Please note that this is a 6 month fixed term contract with potential to turn into a full-time employment basis perforlamce.



Job Description

The role involves end-to-end ownership of strategy, content creation, platform management, engagement, and performance analysis. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of digital trends, storytelling, and community building, while ensuring our brand voice is consistently represented.


Social Media Strategy & Planning: Develop and execute a social media strategy aligned with Plaksha’s communication goals, with tailored approaches for key platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter, YouTube). Set performance benchmarks and track progress.


Content Creation & Publishing: Create, manage, and publish engaging content (visual, video, written) for all platforms. Maintain a content calendar and coordinate with internal teams to source and highlight stories. Focus on awareness, amplification, and engagement through content themes, tags, and hashtags, etc.


Stakeholder and Cross-functional Collaboration: Identify and engage with relevant influencers, alumni, and partners to enhance visibility through collaborative campaigns and coordinate closely with internal teams and external vendors (designers, agencies) to align social media efforts with broader communication goals.

Qualifications and Skills

Education: Bachelor’s or master’s degree in mass communication, Journalism, Marketing, Digital Media, Public Relations or a related field.

Experience:

· 1-3 years of experience managing social media for a brand/institution with prior experience of major platforms (Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter, YouTube, Facebook).


Key Competencies:

· Familiarity with social media management tools (Hootsuite, Buffer, etc.).

· Strong written, visual storytelling & basic design skills (Canva or similar).

· Analytical mindset with experience tracking and improving content performance.

· Highly organized, creative, and a team player with the ability to work independently.
