This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Site Reliability Engineer 2 in India.
We are seeking a proactive and skilled Site Reliability Engineer (SRE 2) to ensure the availability, performance, and scalability of critical services and infrastructure. In this role, you will work closely with software engineers and IT teams to maintain high reliability across cloud-based applications and platforms. You will manage production support, automate operational processes, and implement monitoring and incident response procedures. This position offers exposure to modern cloud technologies, collaborative development practices, and opportunities to improve system reliability at scale. Ideal candidates are detail-oriented, enjoy troubleshooting complex issues, and are eager to implement solutions that enhance system performance and operational efficiency.
Accountabilities:
- Provide on-call production support according to team schedules and respond promptly to alerts and incidents
- Manage tickets raised by internal teams or clients, resolving system or data-related issues efficiently
- Monitor, maintain, and optimize system performance, availability, and reliability
- Develop and maintain automation scripts and tools to streamline operations and reduce manual tasks
- Participate in incident management, root cause analysis, and implement long-term solutions to prevent recurrence
- Collaborate with software engineers on application design, deployment, and release processes
- Document processes, procedures, troubleshooting guides, and system improvements
- Assist in capacity planning to ensure infrastructure scalability and future growth
- Implement and maintain security best practices to protect systems and data
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent practical experience
- Minimum of 4 years' experience in SRE, DevOps, or production support roles
- Strong knowledge of Linux/Unix systems, networking, and cloud services (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud)
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or Ruby
- Experience with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk) and CI/CD pipelines
- Familiarity with version control systems such as Git
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively in remote teams
- Relevant certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect or Google Cloud Professional DevOps Engineer are a plus
