Job Description

  • Job Purpose: Write the purpose for which the job exists (in 2-3 lines) (Max 1325 Characters)
  • To ensure proper administration of the facilities at the Birla Copper, Dahej Township including housekeeping and maintenance (civil and electrical) of housing facilities at the township, the Copper Club, Company Guest Houses, Shopping Complex, Young Managers’ Accommodation, Messes, parks, playgrounds and other public areas.
  • To maintain cordial relations with all external stakeholders, local administration.
  • To ensure effective administration, infrastructure support, facilities & Hospitality management at plant & township.
  • Oversee the administration of Bharuch office and deliver support to employees and their families and employee engagement initiatives.

Job Challenges

  • The challenge of carrying out maintenance activities, with limited budgets, in the township with old housing occupied by employees and their families without vacating the quarters.
  • The need for maintaining cordial relationship with local bodies and government officials, sometimes guided by political parties.
  • Managing high expectations of the community.
  • The challenge of carrying out administrative activities to meet the high levels of expectations of employees.
  • Strong, though constructive union with influential leaders from the locality has to be handled carefully.
  • Managing VVIP visit & best Hospitality services.

  • Create policies & SOP for the various facilities availed by users at the township & plant
  • Prepare a plan for regular meeting and engagement with the various external stakeholders and government authorities
  • Providing inputs to the F&C team with respect to OPEX and CAPEX planning and budgeting process with respect to administration
Operational Excellence
  • Ensuring effective facility management and infrastructure support for employees and housekeeping at township and plant.
  • Ensure implementation for green belt development and horticulture in all areas
  • Ensure management of Township Shopping Complex, Guest House, Young Managers’ accommodation, common Messes and Copper Club
  • Ensure house allotment under guidance of housing committee
Budgetary Controls
  • Tracking and optimizing expenditure with respect to OPEX and CAPEX budgets with focus on consumable usage and contractual manpower deployment vis a vis budget
Compliance
  • Ensuring implementation of health, safety and environment norms
  • Ensuring compliance of statutory and regulatory requirement with focus on statutes
  • Ensure adherence to compliance pertaining to Wash pledge as well as data compliance as per Enablon
Customer Centricity
  • Conduct annual satisfaction survey for employees and their families
  • Minimize the response time and improve satisfaction level for the customers
  • facilitating hassle free clearance process with respect to allocated living quarters for employees leaving the services of the organization
  • Generating MIS reports with respect to accommodation allocation in the Township, usage of YMA and Bachelors’ Hostel, Staff canteen and messes
Sustainability and Process Improvement
  • Liase with external stakeholders like village representatives, local government bodies, industry representatives and associations, NGO for smooth functioning of the operations
  • Reviewing HSE, safety and productivity issues and implementing improvement action especially in township with support of safety department
  • Proactively ensuring necessary clearances, documentation and approvals in matters of land, water & forest with a view of sustainable operations
People development and engagement
  • Monitoring and improving performance of own team members and recognizing the team
  • Ensuring training of all team members to enhance competencies, increasing safety awareness and establish 5S culture
  • Providing necessary administrative support and coordination for employee engagement activities such as sports events and cultural events for employees and their families
