Position Overview

The Service Advisor for Commercial Vehicles acts as the primary liaison between customers and the service department. This role is responsible for managing service requests, coordinating repair and maintenance work, ensuring timely job completion, and delivering excellent customer service. The Service Advisor ensures that commercial fleet customers experience minimal downtime, and that all vehicle service operations are carried out efficiently and professionally.


Key Responsibilities

Customer Interaction

o Greet commercial vehicle customers and fleet representatives professionally.

o Understand customer concerns, service requirements, and vehicle history.

o Advise customers on necessary repairs, preventive maintenance, and cost estimates.

o Provide regular updates on vehicle status and expected completion times.


Job Coordination & Administration

o Open, manage, and close service orders in the dealer management system (DMS).

o Schedule service appointments and allocate workshop capacity effectively.

o Liaise with workshop foremen, technicians, and parts department to ensure timely job progress.

o Verify and communicate warranty coverage, service contracts, and goodwill policies.

o Ensure all work orders are documented with accurate repair instructions and customer approvals.


Technical & Product Knowledge

o Maintain a solid understanding of commercial vehicles, components, and systems.

o Explain technical issues and repair solutions in simple, customer-friendly terms.

o Keep updated on manufacturer service bulletins, recalls, and product updates.


Customer Service & Relationship Management

o Handle customer complaints with professionalism and empathy.

o Follow up with customers after service to ensure satisfaction.

o Build long-term relationships with fleet operators, logistics companies, and independent owners.


Performance & Compliance

o Achieve department KPIs such as customer satisfaction, workshop utilization, and service sales.

o Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and manufacturer guidelines.

o Support service campaigns, promotions, and upselling of value-added services.


Qualifications & Skills

·        Diploma/Degree in Automotive Engineering, Business Administration, or related field.

·        Prior experience (2–5 years) as a Service Advisor, preferably in commercial vehicles (trucks, buses, vans).

·        Strong knowledge of diesel engines, heavy-duty systems, and fleet maintenance practices.

·        Proficiency in service management software and MS Office.

 

Reporting Structure

·        Reports to: Service Manager / After-Sales Manager

·        Works closely with: Workshop Foreman, Technicians, Parts Department, Warranty Administrator

 

Location: Trichy

CTC upto 3.60 LPA

Job Type: Full-time
