Job Title: Server Support Engineer / Server Support Specialist

Job Summary:

We are looking for a skilled Server Support Engineer to manage, monitor, and maintain the company’s server infrastructure. The role involves ensuring high availability, security, and performance of physical and virtual servers, while providing technical support and troubleshooting for server-related issues.

Key Responsibilities:

Install, configure, and maintain Windows/Linux servers (physical and virtual).

Monitor server performance, availability, and capacity using monitoring tools.

Troubleshoot and resolve server-related incidents, outages, and performance issues.

Apply patches, updates, and security fixes to servers regularly.

Manage server backups, disaster recovery, and data restoration procedures.

Configure and maintain Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policies, and related services.

Ensure compliance with IT security standards and best practices.

Document configurations, processes, and incident resolutions.

Provide support for server hardware, storage systems, and virtualization platforms (VMware/Hyper-V).

Collaborate with network, security, and application teams for smooth operations.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience).

Proven experience in server support, system administration, or related role.

Strong knowledge of Windows Server / Linux Server environments.

Hands-on experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V, etc.).

Familiarity with Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and file/print services.

Experience with backup solutions and disaster recovery planning.

Knowledge of IT security practices (firewalls, antivirus, patch management).

Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Good communication and teamwork skills.

Preferred Qualifications (Optional):

Certifications such as MCSA/MCSE, RHCSA/RHCE, VMware VCP, or equivalent.

Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).

Knowledge of scripting (PowerShell, Bash, Python) for automation.

Familiarity with monitoring tools (Nagios, Zabbix, SolarWinds, etc.).
