We are now looking for a talented and experienced Senior Website Developer to join our remote team in India . This is a full-time leadership role , ideal for someone with excellent technical skills, strong project management experience, and a proactive approach to solving problems and driving quality. What You Will Do As a Senior Website Developer, you will play a key role in leading the web development function. You’ll manage your own development tasks as well as those of your team, while ensuring exceptional quality and performance across all projects. Team Leadership & Project Oversight Manage a team of developers, assigning tasks and monitoring progress Lead by example with your own hands-on development work Manage multiple projects at once — your own and your team’s — ensuring deadlines and quality standards are consistently met Provide clear, timely updates to project managers, designers, and clients Be a strong communicator who keeps all stakeholders informed of project status Advanced Web Development Build custom websites using WordPress and other platforms (Webflow, Shopify, Wix, etc.) Create customised themes and plugins tailored to client needs Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP) Troubleshoot issues, resolve bugs, and handle technical errors quickly and efficiently Performance & Security Continuously optimise website speed, responsiveness, and user experience Implement up-to-date security measures to protect client websites from vulnerabilities Conduct monthly performance reports using tools like Google Analytics and PageSpeed Insights Analyse data and offer actionable recommendations to improve performance SEO & Visibility Implement SEO best practices in collaboration with the digital marketing team Ensure websites are well-structured, mobile-friendly, and optimised for search engines Innovation & Continuous Improvement Stay up to date with emerging technologies and tools in web development Suggest improvements to tools, workflows, and coding practices Share knowledge and mentor junior team members Skills & Requirements 5+ years of experience in website development (agency experience preferred) Expert knowledge of WordPress , including building custom themes/plugins Proficient in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP Confident with other platforms like Webflow, Shopify, Wix, or Squarespace Proven experience managing multiple projects and teams Deep understanding of website optimisation , security , and accessibility Familiar with performance tracking and analytics tools: Google Analytics, GTmetrix, PageSpeed Insights, etc. Strong understanding of SEO optimisation techniques Proactive, organised, and detail-oriented Fluent in professional English , both spoken and written IS ESSENTIAL Strong communication and reporting skills What We Offer Full-time remote role Opportunity to lead digital projects for exciting UK clients A creative, friendly, and collaborative team environment Competitive salary based on experience Working hours UK 9am - 5pm Monday - Friday Hired on contract basis Salary paid in GBP each month (pay is subject to international currency conversion & local taxes) Clear career progression and personal development opportunities Show more Show less
