Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced

SQL Server Database Administrator (DBA)

with strong expertise in

Azure Data Factory (ADF)

to design, develop, and maintain data integration pipelines, support

SSIS-to-ADF migration

, and ensure optimal database performance across on-premise and Azure environments. The ideal candidate will combine deep SQL Server administration experience with hands-on cloud data integration and automation skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain ADF pipelines for data ingestion, transformation, and orchestration.
  • Lead or support migration of SSIS packages to Azure Data Factory.
  • Administer and manage SQL Server databases (on-premise and Azure SQL DB).
  • Optimize SQL queries, indexes, and stored procedures for maximum performance and scalability.
  • Implement and maintain backup, recovery, and high-availability strategies.
  • Integrate ADF with Azure services including Blob Storage, Key Vault, and Synapse Analytics.
  • Collaborate with infrastructure, DevOps, and data engineering teams to support deployment and automation.
  • Monitor performance using native and third-party tools, resolving database issues proactively.
  • Support CI/CD implementation for ADF pipelines and SQL deployments using Azure DevOps.
  • Automate operational workflows using Logic Apps, PowerShell, or Python scripts.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 8–15 years of experience in SQL Server Database Administration and performance tuning.
  • Strong experience in Azure Data Factory (ADF) – pipelines, data flows, and linked services.
  • Hands-on experience with SSIS and SSIS-to-ADF migration projects.
  • Advanced proficiency in T-SQL, query optimization, and index management.
  • Solid understanding of Azure ecosystem – Azure SQL, Blob Storage, Key Vault, Synapse Analytics.
  • Experience in automation and CI/CD using Azure DevOps, Logic Apps, or PowerShell.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Experience with backup, restore, and disaster recovery in hybrid environments.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate or Azure Data Engineer Associate.
  • Experience with monitoring tools (e.g., Azure Monitor, Log Analytics).
  • Exposure to data security and compliance frameworks in Azure.
  • Familiarity with infrastructure as code (ARM/Bicep/Terraform) is a plus.
