Job Title: Lead Java Engineer Experience: 9+ Years Location: Remote Employment Type: Full-Time Job Overview: Veltris is seeking a highly skilled Lead Java Engineer to spearhead the design, development, and implementation of scalable Java-based applications. You will play a key role in defining architecture, coding standards, and leading engineering excellence across the team while ensuring performance, security, and business alignment. Key Responsibilities: Lead end-to-end architecture and development of scalable Java backend systems and microservices. Define and enforce coding standards and architectural best practices. Translate complex business requirements into effective technical solutions. Collaborate with product managers, QA, and stakeholders to align tech initiatives with business goals. Drive performance tuning, secure coding, and cloud modernization efforts. Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering continuous improvement. Plan and execute projects, managing risks and ensuring timely delivery. Conduct code reviews and maintain high-quality, well-documented codebases. Support CI/CD pipelines and implement DevOps best practices. Stay up to date with emerging technologies and recommend tools or upgrades. Ensure secure coding practices and regulatory compliance. Required Skills & Qualifications: 8+ years of experience in Java development and enterprise software architecture. Deep expertise in Java, Spring Boot, Spring Framework, Hibernate/JPA. Strong knowledge of OOP, design patterns, and clean architecture principles. Proven experience with microservices design and deployment. Hands-on experience with AWS or Azure (e.g., EC2, Lambda, S3). Strong SQL skills (Oracle) and familiarity with NoSQL databases (MongoDB, CosmosDB). Proficiency in RESTful API development and integration. Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Git, Jenkins, and CI/CD pipelines. Focus on performance tuning, secure coding, and compliance. Agile/Scrum experience and strong communication skills. Proven leadership in mentoring, code reviews, and cross-functional collaboration. Nice to Have: Experience with Apache Kafka and event-driven architecture. Familiarity with frontend frameworks (React.js, Angular, or Node.js). Knowledge of DevOps, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and observability tools.
