What You’ll Do
Responsible for the development of new code in the complex area of the Teradata Optimizer. Excellent analytic abilitiesUnderstanding of Database internals, SQL grammar, data structures and OS internals. Associate needs to have 6-8 years of development experience in C/C++. He/She will also be involved in fixing bugs in the Teradata Optimizer initially to gain an understanding of the different areas. Experience in working in Linux style environments is highly desirable. Requires good investigative skills as well as evaluative judgment based on the analysis of factual and qualitativeinformation in complicated or unique situationsExercises judgment in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results
What Makes You a Qualified Candidate
B Tech / M Tech / MCA in Computer Science.
Development experience required.
Strong C/C++ programming skills. Knowledge of Python and shell scripting desirable. Should be comfortable with SQL(ANSI/Database specific)Ability to work with a Technical Lead, Senior Developers, and Support Associates. Teradata knowledge a plus. Should be able to independently design features spanning multiple componentsGood Knowledge and experience in AGILE and SCRUM methodology.
Key Areas of Responsibility:
Analyze optimizer bugs, design fix and unit test changes. Develop new features/change requests. Interact with offshore/onshore associates on projects/assignments

What You’ll Bring
- 6-8 Years of experience in related field
- Software development skills including software design specification, test specification, coding, testing.
- Strong programming skills with C. Shell scripting and Perl programming a plus.
- SQL knowledge
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Be a Team Player
- Knowledge of Teradata/any other RDBMS
- The complexity implied at this level of problem solving relates to the ability to filter, prioritize, analyze and validate potentially complex material
- Exercises judgment in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results
