The role is responsible for the day-to-day management of IT Software Asset Management.
The role will work collaboratively and contribute to the Service Design & Transition team that is responsible for Change Control, IT Operational Readiness, Availability & Capacity Management, IT Asset and Configuration Management.
Key Accountabilities and main responsibilities
Strategic Focus
- Development and delivery of IT Software Asset Management global capability
- Manages the design, development, and implementation of Software Asset process
Operational Management
- Management of Software & Licence currency
- Currency, integrity, and usage optimisation of software
- Integration with other closely related processes and practices eg End User Computing, Procurement,
- Managing the maintenance of records and databases containing information regarding technical properties and associations, asset data, licenses, warranties, and service agreements for the organizations hardware and software
- Identify, lead and manage consolidation and reduction initiatives
- Producing reports that are used to audit data quality, to ensure complete accuracy
- Identifies savings opportunities for renewals, software licensing, and services
- Works with department leadership and vendors to manage contracts and relationships to maximize value creation and costs for software licensing, maintenance, and service offerings
- Assist in the development of reports to provide visibility and actionable metrics on consumption
- Accurately manages IT software asset management systems.
- Responds to requests from end users, managers, developers, and team members for specific IT Software Asset Management data information.
People Leadership
- Build and maintain working relationships with key team members, change analysts and multiple stakeholders within IT Service management Service and applicable capabilities
Governance & Risk
- Ensure compliance with legal, standards, and regulatory requirements
- Support Link Group assurance programs that deliver effective risk management and compliance practices.
Experience & Personal Attributes
Experience
- Software Asset Management and/or Inventory-Tracking systems
- 7 to 9 Years Experience is software asset management area.
- Certification in Vendor Licencing (preferable)
- Excel (Macros and Adv. Level Experience)
- Strong experience in asset management lifecycle practices for Information Technology (ITIL)
- Strong experience in managing Software Licensing including Cloud models
- Strong quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- An understanding of the vast differences in software vendor licensing and the specific details around hardware, platform, and usage needs
- Advanced skills in managing vendor software audits
- Degree-educated or relevant professional qualifications are desirable but not essential
- Significant experience working within enterprise class capabilities
- Experience working with or in IT Service Management and IT Asset Management tools such as Service Now, Flexera, SCCM and other related tools
- Strong verbal and communication skills
- ITIL V3 / V4 Foundation / practices desirable
- Experience with IT asset management tools (eg, ServiceNow, Flexera, or similar platforms).
- Value added if candidate will have experience in CMDB area.
