Role Summary

India House is seeking a Sr. Research Associate to anchor its healthcare and allied health systems research, regulatory synthesis, and sector-level knowledge creation. The role is ideal for someone who can translate complex policies and regulations into clear system-level insights and enjoys operating at the intersection of policy, regulation, institutions, and real-world implementation.

Candidate Profile: What makes you a Strong Fit?

You are a strong fit if you have:

• 2+ years of experience in policy research, regulatory intelligence, public policy, healthcare research, public health, education policy OR 5+ years of total work experience with strong analytical and documentation output
• Ability to decode Acts, rules, guidelines, council structures, and notifications, and translate them into structured sector insights
• Exposure to healthcare systems, allied health, medical education, skilling, or public health ecosystems
• Strong analytical skills with a structured problem-solving approach
• Excellent written documentation and communication skills
• Comfort working cross-functionally with research, programs, partnerships, and leadership teams
• High ownership, independence, and execution discipline

Core Responsibilities

• Policy Research and Knowledge Creation: Lead structured research on healthcare and allied health systems. Produce high-quality reports, working papers, and sectoral studies.
• Regulatory Mapping and Insight Generation: Track and analyse regulations across healthcare, medical education, and skilling ecosystems. Convert laws and notifications into practical checklists and regulatory frameworks. Maintain a repository of regulatory documents and interpretations.
• Stakeholder Mapping and Ecosystem Understanding: Identify and map key actors across ministries, councils, universities, and associations. Support engagement strategies with sector experts and institutions.
• Writing, Documentation and Publication: Create decision-ready outputs like sector reports, policy briefs, and analytical notes. Ensure writing is structured, evidence-backed, and accessible.
• Internal Advisory and Cross-Functional Support: Support leadership with research-backed strategic inputs. Build and maintain internal knowledge tools and repositories.
