Senior Quantity Surveyor

Job Overview

The Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for managing all costs relating to building and civil engineering projects, from the initial calculations to the final figures. The role ensures value for money while achieving the required quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare detailed estimates, BOQs (Bill of Quantities), and cost plans for projects.
• Monitor project costs and control expenses to ensure projects remain within budget.
• Conduct rate analysis, cost forecasting, and cash flow management.
• Review drawings, contracts, and tender documents to prepare accurate costings.
• Handle tendering process, evaluate bids, and prepare recommendations.
• Manage and track subcontractor accounts, variations, and claims.
• Prepare and submit monthly valuations, progress bills, and invoices.
• Conduct site visits to verify measurements and progress.
• Ensure compliance with statutory regulations and company policies.
• Provide financial advice to project managers and senior management.
• Prepare final accounts and project closure reports.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree/Diploma in Quantity Surveying / Civil Engineering or related field.
• 10+ years of relevant experience in civil construction, infrastructure, or real estate projects.
• Strong knowledge of construction materials, contracts, and tendering procedures.
• Proficiency in MS Excel, AutoCAD, and QS software (e.g., Candy, Primavera, or equivalent).
• Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
