Job Description

Senior/Lead BI Engineer

real-world Power BI dashboard examples

 

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain 

    interactive Power BI dashboards and reports

     that provide actionable insights.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into 

    effective data visualizations

    .
  • Develop and optimize 

    SQL queries, stored procedures, and triggers

     to enhance data efficiency.
  • Provide 

    SQL database administration support

    , including 

    backup, performance optimization, and recovery strategies

    .
  • Implement 

    automated workflows using Power Automate

     to streamline business processes.
  • Manage and administer 

    Power BI Service

    , including 

    data gateways, workspace security, and report distribution

    .
  • Offer 

    Power BI architectural solutions

    , ensuring scalability and performance optimization of 

    DAX queries and data models

    .
  • Support 

    Azure administration

     tasks related to Power BI data sources and deployment.
  • Oversee 

    data security, governance, and compliance

     within Power BI.
  • Guide and mentor 

    junior SQL & Power BI developers

    , promoting best practices.
  • Ensure 

    data quality, ETL processes, and effective integration

     with SSIS and other data tools.


    • Qualifications

    • 8+ years of relevant experience

       in 

      Power BI dashboard and report development

      .
    • Strong proficiency in 

      SQL

      , including stored procedures, triggers, and query optimization.
    • Expertise in 

      Power BI Robots

       or similar BI automation tools.
    • Hands-on experience with 

      Power Automate

       to automate workflows effectively.
    • In-depth 

      Power BI Service administration

       knowledge, including workspace management and data gateway configurations.
    • Experience working with 

      SSMS, SSIS, and SSRS

      .
    • Strong understanding of 

      Power BI architecture

      , including 

      DAX optimization and data modeling strategies

      .
    • Ability to mentor junior developers and establish 

      best practices

       in BI development.

    • PL-300 certification (Microsoft Power BI Data Analyst) is mandatory

      .

    • Bachelor’s degree

      in computer science

      , Information Technology, or a related field

       is required.
