Senior Microbiologist

1. Review and verify the laboratory and its activities as per ISO/IEC-17025:2017 and respective Standard Operating Procedures.

2. Maintains laboratory productivity by monitoring workload of functional areas.

3. Work allocation to team members, providing training to all staff members and signing of certificates of qualification for trainees.

4. Review and verify the raw data, report check and verify.

5. Purchase, review and verify sample analysis standard methods, customer’s prescribed methods and in-house methods.

6. Perform and maintains the records for method development, modification, verifications, and validation used in microbiological laboratory.

7. Review and verify the records for verifications, inter-mediate checks, performance verification, preventive maintenance and history record of equipment / instruments/AHU used in microbiological laboratory.

8. Review and verify the records for receiving handling, storage and approval of microbiological media, reagents, and supplements.

9. Review and verify the records for environmental monitoring including temperature & relative humidity.

10. Review and verify the records for CRMs (microbial reference cultures) receiving, handlings, storage, identification, inter-mediate check, and sub culturing.

11. Review and verify the records for decontamination of microbiological waste and fumigation.

12. To check Indent media, chemicals, reagents, glassware, consumable items etc. for purchase.

13. Review and verify work instructions, SOPs, protocols, and test formats. Verify field sampling of food and water as per SOPs.

14. To check and verify cleaning, hygiene, disinfection of microbiological laboratory area.

15. Participation and complete involvement in scheduled customer and regulatory audits / visits and monitoring of corrective actions.

16. Participation in Inter Laboratory Comparison (ILC), Proficiency Testing (PT) and IQC (Internal Quality Check).

17. Withdrawal from use and protection from casual use of equipment in which an inefficiency and/or inaccuracy of measurements has been detected, or which has exceeded the validity date of the calibration or control check.

18. Taking care of the condition of the laboratory and testing areas.

19. Participation in the resolution of complaints and Development of programs of technical training and qualification of the staff.

20. Supervising and observance of provisions of the confidentiality of tests and relevant results.

21. Establishment of corrective actions and preventive actions related to technical issues.

22. Definition of the technical characteristics of equipment to buy as well as acceptance of supplies and purchased technical services. And Evaluation and selection of suppliers.

23. To develop, modify, verify, and validate the methods.

24. To analyze the results, including the statements of conformity or opinions and interpretations.

25. Report, review, and authorization of results.
