Senior Manager - Regional Facilities will oversee and manage the operations of facilities across a specific geographic region, ensuring that all buildings, office spaces, and associated facilities are maintained and operate at optimal efficiency
This leadership role requires a strategic thinker with experience in facilities management, resource allocation, cost control, and vendor management The Director will work closely with senior leadership, regional teams, and external vendors to ensure that regional facilities meet organizational standards for safety, sustainability, and operational effectiveness
Duties and Responsibilities:
Facilities Strategy and Operations: Regional Facilities Oversight: Lead and manage the facilities operations for the region, including office spaces, warehouses, production facilities, and other regional assets Strategic Planning: Develop and execute short- and long-term facilities management strategies that align with the company s overall objectives, growth plans, and operational needs Maintenance & Operations: Oversee day-to-day operations of the regional facilities, including preventive maintenance, building repairs, and overall facility condition Budget Management: Develop, manage, and optimize budgets for facility operations, including capital expenditures, maintenance costs, and operational expenses Ensure cost-effective solutions and efficiency in resource allocation Vendor Management: Source, negotiate, and manage relationships with external vendors and contractors for services such as cleaning, security, maintenance, and other facility-related needs Safety & Compliance: Ensure facilities comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations Implement and enforce protocols for facility safety, risk management, and emergency preparedness Project Management: Facility Expansion & Upgrades: Lead regional facility construction, renovation, and relocation projects from conception through to completion Work with project management teams and external contractors to ensure timelines, quality, and budgets are met Space Planning: Oversee space utilization and layout planning to maximize efficiency and ensure the comfort and productivity of employees across facilities Sustainability Initiatives: Lead efforts to improve energy efficiency and sustainability within regional facilities, implementing green building practices, recycling programs, and other initiatives that reduce environmental impact Team Leadership and Development: Team Leadership: Lead and manage a team of regional facility managers and staff, providing mentorship, guidance, and support in achieving operational objectives Staffing & Development: Ensure adequate staffing levels and effective training programs for facility staff, including engineers, custodians, and security personnel Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with HR, IT, and other departments to support the overall needs of the organization, such as office layout changes, IT infrastructure requirements, or employee well-being initiatives Risk Management & Emergency Planning: Risk Assessment: Conduct regular assessments of regional facilities to identify potential risks, hazards, and inefficiencies, implementing corrective actions as needed Emergency Response & Business Continuity: Develop and manage emergency preparedness plans for all regional facilities, ensuring that procedures are in place for various scenarios (e g , fires, natural disasters, power outages) and that business continuity is maintained Stakeholder Communication and Reporting: Executive Reporting: Report to senior leadership on the status of regional facilities operations, key projects, budget performance, and any issues that may impact business operations Stakeholder Collaboration: Act as the primary point of contact for facility-related concerns within the region Work closely with department heads, local managers, and other stakeholders to address needs and resolve issues Technology & Systems: Facilities Management Systems: Implement and maintain facilities management software and systems to streamline operations, track maintenance schedules, and manage work orders effectively Technology Integration: Utilize technology and smart building systems to monitor and improve energy usage, security, and overall facility efficiency
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
Bachelor s degree in Facilities Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field A Master s degree or professional certifications (e g , IFMA, BOMA) is a plus 10+ years of experience in facilities management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role Experience in managing facilities across multiple locations is preferred Technical Skills: Proven expertise in facilities operations, including maintenance, space planning, vendor management, and budgeting Strong knowledge of safety and regulatory compliance (e g , OSHA, fire safety, building codes) Experience with facilities management software and systems (e g , FMIS, CMMS) is a plus Experience with sustainability initiatives, energy efficiency, and green building practices Soft Skills: Strong leadership and people management skills with the ability to inspire and lead teams across multiple locations Excellent project management skills, with a proven ability to handle large-scale renovation and expansion projects Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making abilities Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with internal teams, senior leadership, and external vendors Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced and dynamic environment Preferred: Experience with managing facilities in a multi-site or global organization Experience in managing complex or specialized facilities (e g , labs, data centers, manufacturing plants) Knowledge of industry-specific regulations and compliance requirements
