We are looking for a passionate and experienced Senior Engineering Leader to head our backend engineering team. As a Senior Manager or Director, you will lead a group of talented engineers to design, develop, and scale our core backend systems that power mission-critical applications. You will be instrumental in shaping the architecture, guiding technical direction, and fostering a high-performance culture of innovation and ownership.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a full-stack engineering team focused on backend development.
  • Drive the design and architecture of scalable, secure, and high-performance backend systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders including Product, Design, and Data to translate business needs into technical solutions.
  • Create and execute a roadmap for backend services and infrastructure aligned with business goals.
  • Foster a strong engineering culture through mentorship, code reviews, and technical guidance.
  • Ensure high standards in code quality, testing, CI/CD, monitoring, and system reliability.
  • Be hands-on when required to solve complex technical problems or unblock the team.
  • Encourage continuous improvement across engineering processes, tools, and team capabilities.
  • Balance rapid iteration and innovation with long-term sustainability and technical excellence.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
  • 7+ years of software development experience in one or more languages (e.g., Python, Java, C#, C++).
  • 3+ years in a technical leadership role, preferably building and launching consumer products.
  • 2+ years of experience managing engineering teams with a focus on backend systems.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience scaling backend systems in high-growth startups or product-first environments.
  • Strong understanding of distributed systems, microservices architecture, and cloud-native technologies.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proven ability to build and grow high-performing engineering teams.
