Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Senior Instructional Designer (Mumbai/Vadodara) and an Assistant Manager (Vadodara) and will report to the Manager, Metso Academy based at Vadodara.

The Senior Instructional Designer/AM will be responsible for conducting needs analysis, designing and developing instructional materials, managing training interventions, and overseeing the implementation of learning programs. The role also includes managing learning systems and designing curricula that enhance employee development and organizational performance.


Team you belong to

The team works in close collaboration with Learning Design & Development managers, specialists, technical trainers and subject matter experts from Metso Academy and other parts of the global organization. The team produces engaging, high quality technical learning contents for all forms of training, ILT, VILT, eLearning, videos etc. 


What You Will Do:

  •  Understand business needs and learner profiles to define learning objectives and instructional design concepts and structures that support learning. 
  • Design engaging high quality learning solutions for both ILT, VILT and eLearning, in collaboration with Learning Design & Development managers, subject matter experts, content specialists and other stakeholders.  
  • Create storyboards and scripts based on technical documentation and other source materials to meet the defined learning objectives. 
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to ensure the learning solutions are aligned with product specifications and business requirements. 
  • Maintain project documentation and course folders. 
  • Report the project progress according to agreed principles. 
  • Participate in development projects related to training and learning tools, processes and practices. 
  • Lead a team of instructional designers and content specialists as per project requirements. 
  • Execute project management and manage stakeholders. 


Who You Are:

  • Bachelor of Arts/Engineering/Communication/Marketing/others 
  • Relevant working experience of 8+ years (Sr. ID)/10+ years (AM), knowledge of instructional design principles, theories and strategies 
  • Experience in storyboarding, writing scripts and scenarios for technical training materials for different training types (ILT, VILT, eLearning, video) 
  • Experience in designing for different types of eLearning; gamification, game-based learning, scenario-based learning and simulations 
  • Team leading/supervisor experience is preferred
  • Experience in working with global customers and stakeholders in technical field (mechanical/mining engineering/heavy industry background is seen as advantage) 
  • Experience in project management in the learning design domain
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Proven experience in designing pedagogically effective learning solutions
