Job Description

Job Title: Warehouse Operations Manager Department: Logistics & Supply Chain Reporting To: Regional Operations Head Role Purpose: The Warehouse Operations Manager will be responsible for overseeing end-to-end warehouse operations including Inward, Sorting, Picking, Outbound, Inventory, and Loss Control. The role ensures adherence to safety, hygiene, productivity, and customer service standards while managing a large workforce and supporting the regional P&L objectives. Key Responsibilities: Operations Management: Oversee all warehouse functions: Inward, Sorting, Picking, Outbound, and Inventory Control. Ensure timely unloading of vehicles and email acknowledgment for each vehicle received. Plan and deploy manpower based on volume forecasts and daily operational needs. Independently manage a team of over 150 staff members while fostering collaboration and teamwork. Monitor and reduce site losses and operational inefficiencies. Analyze operational miss reports and take corrective actions to improve performance. Maintain hygiene and cleanliness across the warehouse premises. Respond promptly to customer queries and shipment discrepancies (short/excess). Escalate safety or compliance violations to senior management in a timely manner. Drive productivity improvements through continuous process enhancement. Execute layout-based manpower planning for operational efficiency. Regional P&L Management: Ensure zero customer debits and maintain high service quality. Prevent productivity loss and maintain profitability by optimizing resources. Manage warehouse operations within budget and support profitability targets. Customer Relationship Management: Coordinate with customers for operational support and timely issue resolution. Prepare and share reports with customers as per agreed SLAs. Handle escalations efficiently and proactively reduce complaints in coordination with the Warehouse Manager. Qualifications & Competencies: Graduate / Postgraduate in Operations, Supply Chain Management, or related field from a reputed university. 4+ years of experience in warehouse operations, preferably across 2–3 industries. Proven ability to manage Distribution Center (DC) operations at scale. Tech-savvy with working knowledge of advanced IT systems, SAP, and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS). Strong leadership, people management, and decision-making skills. Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):Timely unloading and dispatch accuracy. Inventory accuracy and minimal losses. Customer satisfaction scores and complaint reduction. Productivity improvement and manpower efficiency. Adherence to budget and cost control targets.
