Job Summary

SAP Vendor/Customer Specialist. This role will be responsible for creating, maintaining, and managing vendor and customer master data profiles in the SAP system to ensure compliance, data accuracy, and smooth operations. Closely working with cross-functional teams, such as procurement, sales, and finance, to ensure timely updates and issue resolution.

Key Responsibilities

Vendor and Customer Creation:

  • Create and maintain vendor and customer master records in SAP, ensuring
accurate data input (including names, addresses, payment terms, contact
details, and tax information).
  • Ensure proper documentation and validation for new vendor and customer
profiles.
  • Review and update existing vendor and customer profiles based on changes
in business operations or compliance requirements.
  • Update and maintain accurate HSN codes for materials and services in SAP,
ensuring proper alignment with applicable tax and legal requirements (GST,
VAT, etc.)
  • Monitor changes in tax laws and regulations to ensure HSN codes are
compliant with the latest requirements.
  • Regularly review and validate the existing HSN codes, ensuring all new and
updated materials/services are correctly categorized

Data Maintenance And Quality Assurance

  • Perform periodic audits of vendor and customer data to ensure accuracy,
completeness, and consistency.
  • Work with other departments to resolve discrepancies or issues related to
vendor and customer profiles.
  • Maintain accurate reporting on the status of vendor and customer data.
  • Perform audits of HSN data to identify inconsistencies or errors, and
implement corrective actions.
  • Ensure the accurate mapping of HSN codes to corresponding SAP material
master data to ensure compliance with tax, invoicing, and reportingrequirements.

Compliance And Documentation

  • Ensure that all vendor and customer data is compliant with internal company
policies and external regulatory requirements (e.g., tax regulations, anti-
money laundering, etc.).
  • Maintain all required documentation related to vendor and customer data
setup for audit purposes.
  • Stay up to date with the latest changes in tax laws, customs regulations, and
government directives regarding HSN codes.
  • Ensure that all HSN-related data adheres to both company policies and legal
standards.
  • Update HSN codes as needed based on updates from government authorities or industry-specific requirements.

Collaboration And Communication

  • Work closely with procurement, sales, finance, and IT departments to ensure
that the vendor and customer master data supports business operations.
  • Communicate with vendors and customers as needed to resolve issues
related to data accuracy, updates, and setup.

Requirements

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance or related field.
  • Proven experience working with SAP, particularly in vendor/customer master data management.
  • Familiarity with SAP modules such as SAP FI (Finance) is preferred.

Skills

  • Strong knowledge of SAP Master Data Governance (MDG) is an advantage.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage large amounts of data accurately.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and resolve issues
effectively.
  • Problem-solving mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.
