Role Overview

The Senior Entomologist will lead entomology research and pest management initiatives to support sustainable crop protection strategies. The role involves conducting advanced research, developing Integrated Pest Management (IPM) programs, supporting product development, and guiding field teams, farmers, and stakeholders to enhance crop productivity and pest resistance management.

Key Responsibilities

Lead entomology projects focused on pest identification, lifecycle studies, and control strategies.

Design and execute laboratory, greenhouse, and large-scale field trials.

Develop and implement Integrated Pest Management (IPM) strategies aligned with sustainability and regulatory standards.

Evaluate biological, chemical, and advanced pest control solutions and support product innovation.

Analyze research data and prepare detailed technical reports, research papers, and documentation.

Provide technical expertise and training to internal teams, channel partners, and growers.

Monitor emerging pest threats, climatic influence on pest dynamics, and resistance patterns.

Collaborate closely with Agronomy, R&D, Production, and Product Development teams.

Mentor junior scientists, entomologists, and field research staff.

Represent the organization in technical forums, seminars, and conferences.

Required Qualifications

M.Sc. / Ph.D. in Entomology / Plant Protection / Agricultural Sciences or related discipline.

8+ years of proven experience in agricultural entomology, pest management, research, or crop protection industry.

Expertise in insect taxonomy, pest ecology, resistance management, and IPM.

Strong experience in experimental design, field trials, and statistical analysis.

Ability to interpret complex research data and convert it into actionable insights.

Excellent leadership, analytical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.

Strong communication and presentation skills.

Preferred Skills

Experience in Seeds / Agriculture / Crop Protection / Research industry.

Knowledge of national regulatory guidelines.

Experience in biological control agents, biopesticides, and digital pest monitoring tools.

Publications in reputed journals preferred.
