About The Role :

Role Description
Engineer is responsible for managing or performing work across multiple areas of the bank's overall IT Platform/Infrastructure including analysis, development, and administration. It may also involve taking functional oversight of engineering delivery for specific departments. Work includes:

Planning and developing entire engineering solutions to accomplish business goals

Building reliability and resiliency into solutions with appropriate testing and reviewing throughout the delivery lifecycle

Ensuring maintainability and reusability of engineering solutions

Ensuring solutions are well architected and can be integrated successfully into the end-to-end business process flow

Reviewing engineering plans and quality to drive re-use and improve engineering capability

Participating in industry forums to drive adoption of innovative technologies, tools and solutions in the Bank.

Your key responsibilities
This role is for a Senior Engineer Mainframe who will be responsible for

You will design, develop and maintain critical mainframe application in the payments landscape.

You will ensure that engineering solutions are aligned with business goals, ensure that solutions are well architected, with maintainability and ease of testing built in from the outset.

You will provide engineering thought leadership within their teams and will play a role in mentoring and coaching of less experienced engineers.

You will liaise with Product Owners to capture feature enhancements.

You will work with vendor team on development projects, create/review technical documents and plan/execute production implementation.

To ensure a stable and maintainable production environment, you will be the Subject Mater Expert as part of the L3 Support.

In case of incidents and business requests, you will be actively involved in the incident and request analysis and drive the problem resolution.

Your skills and experience

Have design and development experience on Cobol, JCL, DB2, CICS, MQ, Stored Procs and SQL

Experience in banking domain, specifically payments will be an added plus

Experience with Agile/SCRUM environment.

Familiar with Agile Team management tools (JIRA, Confluence)

Good communication skills

Pro-active team player

Comfortable working in multi-disciplinary, self-organized teams

Professional knowledge of English
