Location: Jaisalmer, Bikaner, Barmer - (Rajasthan)

Experience Required: Minimum 5 years in electrical engineering with a focus on renewable energy projects (solar & wind).


Job Summary:


Senior Electrical Installation & Design Engineer


Key Responsibilities:


1. Electrical Design & Execution

  • Design electrical systems for solar and windmill projects, including single-line diagrams, electrical layouts, cable sizing, earthing systems, and protection schemes.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (mechanical, civil, control systems) to ensure seamless integration of electrical systems.
  • Develop and review construction-grade engineering packages including layout & section drawings, raceway systems, and grounding systems.

2. Project Management & Installation

  • Supervise electrical installation activities at site, including MV/HV switchgear, transformers, and substations.
  • Manage testing, commissioning, and handover of electrical systems.
  • Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and stakeholders to ensure project schedules, budgets, and quality standards are met.
  • Utilize project management tools (MS Project, Primavera) for planning, resource allocation, and progress tracking.

3. Technical Support & Troubleshooting

  • Provide technical guidance and support to project teams; troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues efficiently.
  • Perform root cause analysis using structured methods such as FMEA.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including specifications, drawings, and test reports.

4. Quality Assurance & Compliance

  • Ensure electrical systems comply with IEC, IEEE, and local electrical codes and standards.
  • Conduct site inspections, audits, and quality checks to ensure adherence to safety and performance protocols.
  • Identify areas for improvement and implement corrective measures to enhance system reliability and efficiency.


Requirements:


Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering

Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years in electrical engineering with a focus on renewable energy projects (solar & wind).

  • Proven experience in electrical design, installation, and commissioning of power systems, substations, and GIS/AIS systems.

Technical Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of electrical engineering principles, including circuits, power systems, and control systems.
  • Experience in substation studies, including rigid bus, grounding, corona, illumination, lightning protection, and auxiliary power system analyses.
  • Ability to develop equipment specifications and review vendor documentation for technical compliance.
  • Knowledge of single-phase and three-phase GIS substations, SF6 terminations, and indoor/outdoor GIS applications.
  • Expertise in high voltage cable system design (ampacity calculations, cable pulling, vault layouts, cable restraints, GIS sealing ends/air termination).
  • Awareness of AIS vs. GIS substations in terms of reliability, maintenance, cost, and space requirements.
  • Understanding of building infrastructure requirements to support GIS (wall penetrations, embedded steel, cranes, SF6 reclaimers).
  • Strong communication skills to interface effectively with internal teams, customers, and vendors.
