Position: Senior Database Administrator

About the role:

We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Database Administrator (DBA)

You will take end-to-end ownership of issues, maintain clear communication with stakeholders, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive timely resolution—all while adhering to change management and production governance protocols.

Key Responsibilities:

• Administer, maintain, and optimize databases across

  on-premise and cloud platforms

  including

  AWS (RDS MySQL/Aurora/Postgres, Redshift)

  and

  Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI - DBCS, ADW)

  .
• Manage and tune

  MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle (CDB/PDB), Redshift

  , and

  Hadoop

  environments.
• Perform advanced

  performance tuning, capacity planning, and health checks

  using tools such as

  SQL Developer, OCI Metrics, Performance Hub, and SolarWinds DPA

  .
• Implement

  monitoring and alerting systems

  (CloudWatch, Opsgenie, OCI Alarms), and proactively resolve CPU, memory, I/O, and storage issues.
• Handle

  database backup, recovery, replication, and housekeeping tasks

  , ensuring minimal downtime and data integrity.
• Troubleshoot issues related to

  tablespaces, indexes, mounting failures, blocking/deadlocks, and data replication

  .
• Work with

  command line tools (OCI CLI)

  and develop automation scripts in

  Shell, Python, or Perl

  .
• Administer

  wallets and password-less authentication

  , and manage

  Oracle ADW

  services.
• Collaborate with vendors (Oracle, AWS, SolarWinds) to resolve escalated issues efficiently.
• Maintain detailed documentation and communicate effectively across technical and non-technical teams.

Requirements:

• 6–10 years of hands-on DBA experience with increasing responsibility in enterprise environments.
• Strong experience with

  MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle

  , and

  cloud-based databases (AWS RDS, Redshift, OCI DBCS/ADW)

  .
• Solid scripting skills in

  Python, Shell, or Perl

  for automation and operational efficiency.
• Experience with

  database performance tuning, capacity planning, and backup strategies

  .
• Working knowledge of

  Hadoop ecosystems

  is a strong plus.
• Familiarity with

  wallet management, password-less auth, and Oracle multi-tenant architecture (CDB/PDB)

  .
• Excellent problem-solving, interpersonal, and communication skills.
• Ability to work within SLAs and maintain high levels of ownership and accountability.
