Role Overview:

Senior Data Engineer with 5+ years of experience

This role involves taking end-to-end ownership of data systems, setting best practices, and collaborating closely with AI Engineers, Data Scientists, and business teams to drive high-quality, production-grade data workflows.

Key Responsibilities:

Data Engineering & Pipelines

• Architect, build, and maintain

  large-scale ELT pipelines

  on Databricks / Spark.
• Design and manage

  Delta Lakehouse

  architectures with ACID properties.
• Build scalable, modular

  data ingestion and transformation frameworks

  (batch & streaming).
• Optimize ETL/ELT workflows for performance, reliability, and cost-efficiency.

Database & Schema Design

• Own the design of

  data models, schema structures

  , and warehouse architectures.
• Implement and manage

  fact/dimension models

  , star/snowflake schemas, SCD types.
• Ensure database performance through indexing, partitioning, clustering, and query tuning.

Advanced SQL Engineering

• Write highly optimized SQL queries for analytics and production pipelines.
• Troubleshoot performance issues and drive continuous improvement in SQL workloads.

Leadership & Collaboration

• Provide technical leadership to junior data engineers.
• Collaborate with Data Scientists to build feature pipelines and ML-ready datasets.
• Work with AI Engineers to integrate data workflows into Agentic AI systems.
• Ensure robust monitoring, observability, and quality checks across all data pipelines.
• Participate in architectural reviews and contribute to platform-level decision-making.

Required Skills & Expertise:

• Expertise in Databricks

  (Spark, Delta Lake, DB SQL, Workflows)

• Deep knowledge of SQL

  and query optimization
• Strong experience in

  data modeling

  , schema design, SCD, normalization/denormalization
• Hands-on expertise with

  PySpark / Spark SQL

• Strong programming experience with

  Python

• Proven experience building and owning

  production-grade ELT pipelines

• Strong understanding of

  Data Lake / Lakehouse

  architectures
• Cloud experience:

  Azure / AWS / GCP

• Knowledge of CI/CD, Git, and DevOps practices for data platforms

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with

  Azure Data Lake / AWS S3 Data Lakes

• Experience with

  Unity Catalog

  in Databricks
• Exposure to

  streaming frameworks

  (Kafka, Structured Streaming)
• Familiarity with

  MLflow

  , Feature Stores, and MLOps concepts
• Experience implementing

  data quality checks

  , observability, and automated validation
• Domain exposure in BFSI, Healthcare, Pharma, or Consumer Services

Required Background:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, IT, or related field

• 5+ years of professional experience

  as a Data Engineer, with demonstrated ownership of data systems
