Role Overview

As a Senior Backend Engineer, you’ll design, build, and optimize the core systems that power our AI-driven legal automation platform. You’ll work closely with our product, AI, and front-end teams to create secure, scalable, and intelligent backend services that serve real-world use cases for enterprise legal teams.

What You’ll Do:

• Backend Architecture: Design and implement robust Python-based APIs and microservices using FastAPI or Django.
• Build and maintain scalable, secure, and high-performance backend systems.
• Develop RESTful APIs to support AI models, user interfaces, and data workflows.
• Apply strong knowledge of data structures and algorithms to design efficient systems.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to ship features rapidly and reliably.
• Ensure system performance, reliability, and scalability across services.
• Contribute to architecture design, code reviews, and backend best practices.
• Own end-to-end delivery — from ideation to deployment and monitoring.

What We’re Looking For:

• 5+ years of experience as a backend or full-stack developer.
• Strong command of Python, Django, and/or FastAPI.
• Proficiency in database systems — PostgreSQL, Redis, and vector databases preferred.
• Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure.
• Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, and backend design principles.
• Familiarity with containerization (Docker), CI/CD pipelines, and version control (Git).
• Excellent problem-solving, debugging, and analytical skills.

Bonus Points For:

• Experience with AI/ML pipelines or data-intensive systems.
• Knowledge of asynchronous task queues (Celery, Redis).
• Familiarity with microservices, event-driven architecture, or GraphQL APIs.
• Exposure to MLOps or vector search technologies (like Pinecone, Qdrant, or Weaviate).
