Senior Backend Developer

We are seeking a highly skilled and versatile Senior Backend Engineer with deep experience in the Shopify ecosystem and strong working knowledge of AI/LLM technologies. You will play a key role in building scalable backend infrastructure and driving multiple AI-powered features across our eCommerce platform—from intelligent search to personalization and customer support automation.

Key Responsibilities
Shopify-Focused Backend Engineering

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services that power our Shopify apps.
• Work extensively with Shopify Admin API, Storefront API, OAuth, Webhooks, Metafields, and App Extensions.
• Build and manage automation workflows, data sync systems, and store-side logic.
• Ensure backend architecture is secure, scalable, and high-performance.

AI/LLM Feature Development

Work on next-generation AI capabilities, including:

• AI-powered search (semantic search, product intent detection, recommendations).
• AI customer support (chatbots, automated replies, FAQ retrieval systems).
• Personalization engines (smart product suggestions, dynamic content).
• AI content generation (product descriptions, email content, creatives).
• AI analytics & insights (predictions, intelligence dashboards).

General Engineering Responsibilities

• Build and maintain APIs, microservices, and integrations with third-party platforms.
• Work with LLMs, embeddings, vector DBs, RAG systems, and AI pipelines.
• Optimize performance, reliability, and deployment workflows.
• Collaborate closely with product, frontend, and design teams on full feature delivery.

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong backend development experience in Python, or similar languages.
• In-depth knowledge of Shopify app development, APIs, and ecosystem tooling.
• Hands-on experience with LLMs (OpenAI, Gemini, etc.), embeddings, vector search, and AI workflows.
• Experience with microservices architecture, API development, and cloud deployments.
• Familiarity with both relational and NoSQL databases.
• Strong debugging, optimization, and system design skills.
• Ability to work independently and lead technical decision-making.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹40,000.00 - ₹60,000.00 per month
