Job Overview

We are seeking a

Senior Data Engineer

with deep technical expertise in

SQL, Python, Azure Synapse, Azure Data Factory, Snowflake, and Databricks

. The role involves designing and implementing robust, scalable data pipelines and working closely with stakeholders to deliver impactful data solutions. A strong understanding of data modeling and query optimization is essential, along with a continuous learning mindset.

Key Responsibilities

Collaborate with business and IT teams to define and gather functional data requirements.
Design and implement scalable ETL/ELT pipelines using Azure Data Factory, Databricks, and Snowflake.
Develop technical designs, data flow diagrams, and contribute to future-state data architecture.
Apply modern data modeling techniques (ER models, star schema, Kimball methodology).
Ensure data quality, governance, and validation in collaboration with QA teams.
Write and optimize complex SQL queries (DDL, DML, performance tuning).
Work with Azure Synapse, Azure Data Lake, and Snowflake for enterprise-scale data workloads.
Apply DevOps and CI/CD best practices to automate data pipeline deployments.
Support real-time data processing using Spark, Kafka, or equivalent tools.
Mentor junior engineers on best practices in SQL, ETL development, and cloud data engineering.
Stay updated with the latest cloud technologies and implement innovative solutions.

Must-Have Skills

SQL: Strong hands-on with DDL, DML, performance tuning, and optimization.
Programming: Proficiency in Python or Java for automation and data transformation.
Data Modeling: Solid understanding of ER modeling, star schema, Kimball techniques.
Cloud Platforms: Proven experience with Azure Synapse, ADF (Azure Data Factory), Azure Data Lake, Databricks, and Snowflake.
ETL Development: Ability to design and implement scalable ETL/ELT processes.
Communication: Strong presentation and communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.
Domain Knowledge (Optional): Exposure to financial services or related domains.

Nice-to-Have Skills

DevOps & CI/CD: Familiarity with Git, Jenkins, Docker, and deployment automation.
Streaming Data: Experience with Apache Spark, Kafka, or real-time architectures.
Data Governance & Security: Understanding of compliance, data governance frameworks, and best practices.
AWS Knowledge: Exposure to AWS Glue, Redshift, Athena, etc., is a plus.
