Job Summary:

Muzris Gold and Diamonds is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to join our finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the company's financial records, leading tax compliance, and providing accurate financial reports. This role is critical for maintaining the financial health and integrity of our operations, with a special focus on the unique accounting requirements of the jewellery industry.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage all accounting operations including Billing, Accounts Receivable (A/R), Accounts Payable (A/P), General Ledger, and Cost Accounting.
• Oversee the accounting and valuation of inventory, including raw materials (gold, diamonds) and finished goods.
• Ensure timely month-end and year-end closing of financial books.
• Prepare and publish timely financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow).

• Lead all tax compliance activities, including the hands-on preparation and filing of monthly/quarterly GST returns and annual corporate Income Tax Returns (ITR).

• Coordinate and manage statutory and internal audits.

• Reconcile accounts and bank statements regularly.

• Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.

• Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Education:

  Bachelor's degree in Commerce (B.Com) or related field required.

• Certification:

  Professional certification such as Chartered Accountant (CA), CA Inter, or Cost and Management Accountant (CMA) is

  a plus

Experience:

• A minimum of 4-5 years of proven experience in a comprehensive accounting role.

• Demonstrable, hands-on experience in filing GST returns and corporate ITR is mandatory.

• Experience in the jewellery or retail industry is highly advantageous.

Technical Skills:

• Proficiency in accounting software, especially Tally ERP 9 / TallyPrime, is essential.

• Strong command of MS Excel.
• In-depth knowledge of Indian Accounting Standards (Ind AS) and current taxation laws.
