Company Size Mid-Sized Experience Required 1 - 4 years Working Days 5 days/week Office Location Remote Working Role & Responsibilities We are seeking a highly skilled Java Backend Developer with 2+ years of experience in building modern, scalable backend systems. The role demands strong proficiency in Java 17+ and hands-on experience with backend frameworks such as Spring 6, Spring Boot 3, Vert.x, and Dropwizard. You’ll work on distributed systems, cloud-native services, and real-time applications using a robust technology stack that includes MySQL, Redis, Elasticsearch, AWS (Lambda, API Gateway, SQS, SNS), and more. Preference will be given to candidates with exposure to Ruby on Rails, Consul, and message brokers like ActiveMQ. Design and develop backend systems using Java 17+, leveraging modern frameworks like Spring 6, Spring Boot 3, Vert.x, and Dropwizard. Build and maintain microservices with high availability, performance, and scalability. Model relational data and optimize database interactions using MySQL. Implement caching mechanisms using Redis. Develop search and indexing features using Elasticsearch. Build and expose secure, well-documented RESTful APIs. Create serverless workflows with AWS Lambda and expose endpoints using API Gateway. Integrate asynchronous messaging using AWS SQS, SNS, and ActiveMQ. Use GitHub for source control, code reviews, and CI/CD processes. Apply a solid understanding of Data Structures and Algorithms to build efficient, maintainable code. Ideal Candidate 1+ years of hands-on experience in Java backend development, including Java 17+. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience) Proficient in Spring 6, Spring Boot 3, Vert.x, and Dropwizard. Strong command of MySQL, database design, and query optimization. Experience with Redis and Elasticsearch. Hands-on experience with AWS, including Lambda, API Gateway, SQS, SNS, EC2, S3, and RDS. Familiarity with ActiveMQ or similar message brokers. Excellent grasp of Data Structures, algorithms, multithreading, and system design. Proficient in version control and collaboration using GitHub. What Would Be Good To Have Exposure to or working knowledge of Ruby on Rails. Experience with containerization tools like Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes. Familiarity with observability and logging tools such as Kibana and Datadog. Knowledge of Consul for service discovery and configuration management. Practical use of AI tools like ChatGPT and Claude AI to accelerate development, automate documentation, or assist with code quality and reviews.
