ABOUT THE ROLE As a Full Stack Software Developer (SDE 1), you will be responsible for building high-impact digital products that transform learning. This role offers a unique opportunity to work across the entire technology stack while contributing to innovation in education. You will actively collaborate with cross-functional teams, leverage modern web technologies, and integrate large language models (LLMs) to improve development workflows and user experiences. ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES Full-Stack Development ● Design and develop features across front-end and back-end systems using modern frameworks and best practices. ● Build responsive and accessible user interfaces using React, JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML5, and CSS3. ● Develop backend APIs and services using Node.js and Express, integrated with SQL or NoSQL databases. LLM Integration & Innovation ● Apply LLMs to streamline various stages of the development lifecycle including code generation, debugging, and automation. ● Experiment with and contribute to building internal tools that improve engineering velocity using AI. Collaboration & Agile Practices ● Work closely with product managers, designers, and engineers to turn feature ideas into high-quality, scalable solutions. ● Participate in sprint planning, code reviews, and team discussions to continuously improve code quality and development processes. Learning & Growth ● Stay up-to-date with the latest in web development and AI-powered tooling. ● Embrace continuous learning and experimentation to refine technical skills and product intuition. ● Contribute to reusable components and shared code libraries to improve development efficiency. EXPERIENCE ● Hands-on experience building applications using JavaScript/TypeScript and the React ecosystem. ● Familiarity with both front-end and back-end development in a Node.js environment. ● Experience working with SQL or NoSQL databases. ● Experience building or experimenting with LLMs for development-related tasks (e.g., code generation, debugging, or reviewing). ● Prior exposure to Git and modern development tools (e.g., npm/yarn, testing frameworks). COMPETENCIES REQUIRED Functional ● Solid understanding of full-stack development fundamentals and component-based architecture. ● Familiarity with cloud infrastructure, deployment, or CI/CD pipelines is a plus. ● Ability to write clean, maintainable, and testable code.
