Job Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented and creative Scientific Digital Media Assistant (unpaid internship) to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a key role in sourcing, creating, and sharing cutting-edge scientific content while ensuring our social media platforms achieve global engagement and reach. This role involves close collaboration with the Social Media Manager and design team to deliver high-quality, impactful content. Key Responsibilities: Content Creation: Research and extract the latest scientific developments, discoveries, and news from trusted global sources. Transform complex scientific information into engaging and accessible content for diverse audiences. Content Collaboration: Coordinate with the Social Media Manager and graphic designers to create visually compelling social media posters. Ensure that the content aligns with the organization’s brand voice and objectives. Social Media Management: Manage and maintain social media accounts (e.g., Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn). Schedule, publish, and monitor posts to maximize global reach and audience engagement. Respond to comments, questions, and messages promptly and professionally. Analytics and Optimization: Track social media performance metrics and suggest strategies to improve reach and engagement. Stay updated on social media trends and tools to enhance content delivery. Collaboration and Innovation: Brainstorm new content ideas and campaigns to amplify the impact of scientific communication. Participate in regular team meetings and contribute to project planning. Qualifications and Skills: A passion for science and science communication. Strong writing and editing skills, with the ability to present scientific information clearly and engagingly. Familiarity with social media platforms and content scheduling tools. Excellent organizational and multitasking skills. Experience in graphic design tools (e.g., Canva, Photoshop) is a plus.
