About The Role

We are looking for a highly experienced

SAP HCM US Payroll Configuration Consultant

with strong expertise in US payroll processes, schemas, rules, and statutory compliance. The ideal candidate will lead end-to-end configuration, support, and enhancement activities for large-scale global HR/payroll systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead full-cycle configuration and support for SAP HCM US Payroll, including schemas, PCRs, wage types, tax models, and pay processing.
  • Configure and support core SAP HCM modules: Personnel Administration (PA), Organizational Management (OM), Time Management, and integrations with payroll.
  • Ensure compliance with US federal, state, and local payroll laws, tax updates, garnishments, deductions, benefits, and year-end processing.
  • Conduct requirement analysis, prepare functional specifications, and work with ABAP teams on enhancements and custom RICEFW objects.
  • Monitor US payroll cycles, troubleshoot issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement long-term solutions.
  • Handle BLS, FUTA, SUTA, W-2, W-4, 401k, garnishments, off-cycle payments, retro payroll, and tax reporter processes.
  • Support SAP Notes application, legal changes, support packs, and payroll performance optimization.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to support integrations with SuccessFactors EC/ECP, FI-CO, Benefits, and Time.
  • Conduct testing (Unit, Integration, UAT), payroll parallel testing, and sign-offs.
  • Prepare training documents, user guides, SOPs, and provide end-user training.
  • Manage incidents, service requests, and change control processes using ITSM tools (ServiceNow/JIRA).

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 10+ years hands-on experience in SAP HCM with a strong focus on US Payroll configuration.
  • Deep knowledge of US payroll statutory requirements, taxation, wage types, schemas, and PCRs.
  • Experience with US Time Quotas, Absence/Attendance, and payroll-time integration.
  • Strong understanding of US regulatory requirements: Social Security, Federal & State tax rules, garnishment rules, and year-end activities.
  • Demonstrated experience managing large US payroll operations in SAP.
  • Ability to debug payroll results and collaborate with ABAP developers.
  • Experience in applying OSS Notes, handling support packs, and legal changes.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to interact with global stakeholders.
