Job Title: SAP BW (Business Warehouse) Consultant with Hana Migration Position: LA / AC Experience: 8+ years of experience Category: Software Development Job location: Bangalore, Chennai Position ID: J0625-0399 Work Type: Hybrid Employment Type: Full Time / Permanent Qualification: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. We are seeking an experienced SAP BW Consultant to lead the migration of our existing SAP BW system running on Oracle to SAP BW/4HANA. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience with SAP BW 7.x, Oracle databases, and SAP BW/4HANA architecture, along with a strong understanding of data modelling, ETL processes, and SAP HANA optimization. Key Responsibilities: Evaluate and work on end-to-end migration from SAP BW on Oracle to SAP BW/4HANA. Assess current BW landscape and define the most suitable migration path (In-place, Remote, or Shell Conversion). Redesign legacy BW objects (InfoCubes, DSOs, Multiproviders) into BW/4HANA-compatible objects (ADSO, Composite Providers). Use SAP BW/4HANA Transfer Cockpit and other SAP tools to facilitate migration. Perform data validation, reconciliation, and performance tuning post-migration. Collaborate with business and technical teams to ensure minimal disruption during migration. Work with functional consultants to verify data and troubleshoot any issues that arise during the migration. Maintain comprehensive documentation of data migration processes and procedures including DoMD (Data Migration mapping documents), Document migration strategy, technical specifications, and test plans. Required and must have Skills: Strong experience with SAP BW 7.x on Oracle and SAP BW/4HANA. Proficiency in SAP HANA modeling and SQL scripting. SAP BO reporting including working on IDT/UDT tools and Power BI working experience. Working experience in Oracle Materialized view is a must. Develop and enhance BW objects such as InfoObjects, InfoCubes, Infosources/Data Sources, Master Data, Transformations, Update Rules, DSO, Extractors, Infosets, Aggregates, Process Chains, DTPs, User Exits, BADI and HANA objects like Schemas, Calculated, Analytical or Scripted Views using HANA Modeler. Able to debug issues post migration and must have ABAP and AMDP working experience. Experience with SAP migration tools (Transfer Cockpit, RSB4HCONV etc). Design and manage ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes, including the development of load programs using tools like LSMW, LTMC, and others. Ensure seamless data integration with SAP FI, SD, MM and COPA modules. Conduct unit testing, integration testing, and UAT to validate data accuracy. Technical expertise in: Data Models, Database Design Oracle SQL, optimize queries & individually debug queries. Knowledge of SAP data warehousing concepts and architecture. Ability to write ABAP for custom enhancements and debugging. Experience in backup/Restore/Recovery of SAP/Oracle installations, Server Monitoring and optimizing techniques.
